3 333 333 CZK for Proving Paranormal Abilities – Foreigners May Apply

10.říjen 2015 The Paranormal Challenge

The testing process has three stages. The first stage is a preliminary interview with the contender, during which they describe their ability and, if possible, give a demonstration. If there seems to be a testable ability, the Paranormal Challenge team together with the contender create an experiment plan, which both creates an environment for the claimed powers to manifest and follows the rules of a randomized, double-blinded experiment.

The Paranormal Challenge of the Czech Club Sisyfos has reached two significant achievements in the three years of its running.

  1. The reward for succeeding in the Challenge is now 3 333 333 CZK, over 123 000 EUR, making it the third highest prize of its kind in the world. The Paranormal Challenge of the Czech Skeptics Club Sisyfos offers a reward to anyone who can prove their claim of paranormal abilities in a double-blinded, randomized experiment.  A paranormal ability is an ability, which's probability of existing is close to none based on current scientific research.

Anyone over the age of 18 can become a benefactor of the Challenge if they promise to pay an amount of 10 000 CZK (370 EUR), the promise being via credit note. The first significant benefactor was the successful entrepreneur and philanthropist Vaclav Dejcmar, who raised the award by 1 000 000 CZK (37 000 EUR). Our second major benefactor who brought the reward to its current heights wishes to stay anonymous. All other benefactors are mentioned, according to their wishes, on the Paranormal Challenge website.

  2. The Czech Paranormal Challenge team is elated to announce that it is now open to testing foreign claimers, communicating with persons claiming paranormal abilities from as near as Slovakia to as far as Argentina.

About the Paranormal Challenge

The Challenge, starting January 1st, 2014, is a continuance of the concluded 1 000 000 EUR European Skeptics Sisyphus Prize, declared by the Belgic-Flemish skeptics club SKEPP in cooperation with the European Council of Skeptical Organizations. Anyone, who could prove they had paranormal abilities, abilities which are considered impossible according to current scientific research, could win the prize. For example, someone displaying psychic abilities, telepathy, telekinesis, dowsing, etc. None of the persons tested in more than a dozen participating countries exhibited any abnormal or above average results in various experiments.

Since the European prize, five claimers have been tested in the Czech Republic in multiple disciplines, such as dowsing, finding live matter with the use of a pendulum and the stream of truth,  using psychic powers to determine the position of a diamond on a clockface and long-distance medical diagnoses.
